Welcome to 'Mend Britain'
All victims of anti-social behaviour have suffered too much, for too long.
Current anti-social behaviour (ASB) legislation has been left wanting for some time and with the passing of the years, victims have come to realise that 'change must come from within'.
Our government and allied agencies owe us that change.
We have been the silent majority, but this website and petition is our voice and we have a right to be heard.
Newsflash: As many of the UK and world feel too, we are shocked, outraged and disgusted with the recent riots across the UK - there was no excuse for these. Help name and shame the appalling criminals that have been engaged in UK riots and cultivating rioting in our communities and streets. Those involved should be ashamed of themselves, help us to identify them to the Police so they might be caught and served with justice!
How did Mend Britain come into existence?
MendBritain.com came into existence through the consensus of opinion from a group of individuals who had been victims of social crime.
Recent events highlighting the Pilkington case where anti social behaviour can devastate lives to the point of suicide and the subsequent outrage has made them they realise that the time is right for change.
Change in legislation that helps to prevent such atrocities occurring, change in legislation to protect victims of social crime and change in legislation to punish the perpetrators who are, all too often, dealt with far too leniently.
MendBritain.com is lobbying for that change.
What can Mend Britain offer you?
Most importantly, we are campaigning for change with our online petition, which when complete will be presented to the current Prime Minister in the near future.
Our petition aims to influence and initiate the following:
• To support a review and a change in legislation relating to Anti-Social Behaviour, and yob culture.
• To ensure uniform policy on ASB from area to area/county to county
• To engender stiffer custodial sentencing for prolific offenders.
• To safeguard victims of ASB and Nuisance Neighbours.
• To improve the quality of life of victims with adequate support.
• Legislation that grants Legal Aid or Assisted Aid for victims of ASB/Nuisance Neighbour and Yobbish Behaviour Syndrome automatically.
As well as our petition, we are proud to uniquely display information and council listings from every UK local authority within our valuable database (of around 450 councils), where you can quickly find your local council's ASB information and even rate or comment on their abilities!
You can also find a huge range of anti-social behaviour related topics and resources in our 'ASB Talk' section, poignant photos in our photo galleries, a video section and new features being added regularly.
We hope you enjoy using Mend Britain and can help us to make those changes we all seek.
A quick word about NFHiB
Mend Britain is proud to be closely connected with Neighbours From Hell in Britain (NFHiB) and because of the vibrant, thriving and busy online forum community, this group of like minded individuals, all with a passionate and shared cause to stamp out the blight of anti-social behaviour, was born.
NFHiB was created in 2002 and recently celebrated its 7th successful year online, a remarkable achievement where many thousands of people have been helped, empowered, supported and informed to make positive changes around their negative neighbour situation.
Mend Britain and NFHiB are a powerful force together for change. We can and will make a difference in challenging anti-social behaviour and neighbours from hell and we are proud to do so whilst always ensuring our support and resources are offered equally to all and vitally, for free.
Mend Britain and NFHiB currently receive no official funding or grants; we exist purely as voluntary groups who via self-funding methods offer a dedicated and consistent online presence to help people in any situation where they are living with a neighbour from hell or anti-social behaviour in its many forms.
