It's all just rubbish!

Blot on the landscapeFly tipping can occur anywhere. Commonly, lay bys are used, waste land, roadsides, and even, from personal experience, private driveways or other private land.

Fly tipping is not only illegal, it can be very dangerous too if toxic waste is incorrectly disposed of. It can cause pollution to land or waterways, damage wildlife and plant life and encourage vermin.

Dispose Carefully

If you are unsure of how to dispose of an item correctly, contact your local council who will advise you. Many local authorities offer a bulky item collection service.

If you witness a case of fly tipping and are able to record the registration number of the vehicle involved this can help the authorities to trace the fly tippers and they may incur a hefty fine if caught.

Help Stop Fly Tipping

Incidents of fly tipping should always be reported to the relevant local authority and it is helpful if you are able to give as much detail as possible.
